Darren and I were commissioned by Swindon The Opera to create a branded image which you can see on their website (http://swindontheopera.co.uk/) however along the journey we have also been photographing the cast and creatives involved with the opera, there have been some stunning faces come through our studio each and every one I have found breath taking. This image of Betty Roe is in particular heart warming to me, meeting her was a joy, a wonderful woman with whom I had the pleasure of not only capturing her image but the privilege of conversing with her about her life in music, her involvement with writing the music for the opera and little gems of chit chat that left me feeling positively glowing. One thing that Betty was concerned about was that we should not make her look younger by using air brushing techniques etc., I assured her we would handle her likeness with care and integrity, using only lighting to create a beautiful portrait of her. I have chosen to show two of my favourite imges from the recent shoot, there is something charming and captivating about them, truly engaging like Betty herself.
