A year rolls around so quickly, time flies by so fast yet the memories of Summer Breeze 2011 were not yet faded, still strong memories fast in heart and mind….. I don’t see myself as a professional reviewer, I am a photographer who wears her heart on the sleeve, I connect very easily with people, places, the tangible and the intangible, if the subject speaks honestly to my heart then I am there with my camera, these few words are just to acknowledge and reinforce my love of this wonderful festival organised by Andy Lodington and Sarah Daltry who each year do an incredible job putting together one of the warmest and friendliest festivals I have had the pleasure of going to. The great music line up is scheduled by Andy and Sarah themselves, is a perfect festival recipe, the flow of the weekend and choice of music chosen certainly gave this festival a rhythm of its own, they spend much of their spare time researching bands and musicians to bring the best fit for the vibe of the festival at Warren Farm. There were a few personal hilights for me, some brought tears of laughter, joy and a personal tearful back lash from 12 months ago when I was taken ill at Sonisphere festival, thanks to the amazing Vintage Trouble. So lets bring this to the point in question, what is it about Summer Breeze that is so good in comparison to other festivals? It does have a boutique family friendly feel, yet accessible to everyone, fantastic setting with the hills of Liddington embracing the grounds, it has grown in size over the last years from a hundred or so to this years 2,000 sell out weekend. The essential part of any festival is a feeling of lots going on but small enough to retain its intimacy and personality, Summer Breeze has this in abundance, a festival for young, the old, those with families, those going it alone or in a group, this festival has it all. We hope to be back ‘shooting the Breeze’ in 2013. We wait impatiently for the line up to be announced… something Divine would be nice 😀
