Continuing on the back catalogue of an artist series Darren and I did a while back, the next artist we focused on was Billy Beaumont, he was someone we had known from a distance through a local venue called Riffs Bar, I saw him as a colourful character, always ready to have a good conversation and a laugh. His work I think reflects his personality, humorous, quirky, with a generous splash of irony. It would be hard not to like Billy’s work, with diverse subjects from The Mona Lisa to Vlad The Impaler, to series of star signs and pop stars, to name just a few. There is a cheekiness to his style that is entertaining, also an element of romance, set aside the aspect of light heartedness of his work there is a strong undercurrent of quality, a skilled and trained artist, that is serious about his work, he is without doubt one of my favourite artists, his art makes me smile. Billy has a vast collection of his work on line which you can find on his website, he is available for private and commercial commissions, Billy exhibits locally but is gaining recognition worldwide too. http://www.billybeaumont.com
